Electrical Engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity and its management along with related machines and devices. It also incorporates the study and uses of electromagnetic systems. B.Tech in Electrical Engineering is a Four years Degree Level course and equips the students with knowledge in the areas of Electrical Engineering, namely, Communication Technology, Control Technology, Electronics, Electrical Machines and Power & Energy.
For successful completions of this course the students must have understandings of applying learned concepts of electromagnetism and electrostatics for real applications. Besides the foundation concepts of Mathematics and Physics a system engineering approach are pre-requisite for this course.
Electrical engineers are having careers in small and big projects that involve the design, implementation, testing and maintenance. Hence, the electrical engineers need to be able to manage the projects and have awareness of commercials and financials or the projects besides technical knowhow. Electrical engineers also work on multiple technologies, like design of household appliances, lighting and wiring of buildings, telecommunication systems, electrical power stations and satellite communications.
College is providing exposure to the state-of-the-art technologies through labs and through elective courses to meet the desired standards of industries. The Department undertakes research & development and consultancy activities in various fields.
After completing this course students will be able:
• Explain a problem in a more structured manner
• Formulate a real-world problem using mathematics
• Design computer-based systems for different domains
• Pursue quality research in areas of social relevance
Electromagnetics. Electromagnetics is an ideal specialization for students interested in electrical engineering jobs related to wave propagation, designing antennas, or microwave communications.
All laboratories are equipped with open source software and some proprietary software.
• The internship is to be carried out at the end of 8th semester of study.
• The candidates are selected for internship by a campus selection process.
• Internship helps students to build field knowledge and to understand the flow of work in the industry.
• Student also has to complete a major project at final year which leads to the partial fulfilment of the degree.
• These processes of learning will enhance student’s motivation towards the course and career.
Electrical Engineers in India can secure jobs in power distribution companies, power plants, railways, metro rails, the aviation sector and, manufacturing sector. Also, various government organizations like SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited), BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited), ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Company), PGCIL (Power Grid Corporation of India Limited), DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization) and many others offer exciting job opportunities to Electrical Engineering graduates.
